How To Enable Facebook Video Chat

Video calls via Facebook are now possible! Can we now say goodbye to Skype? Personally, this is a big convenience compared to downloading and logging in to Skype or Yahoo Messenger and chat with your friend while Facebook is opened. Too many tasks I must say but with this feature, it made things somehow simplified.

So now you're in Facebook and wondering "How the hell do I make this work?" Relax, my dear buddy just follow these simple steps below:

1. Enable your account for video call by going to this link: http://www.facebook.com/videocalling
2. From your friends' list, select the person you want to video call with and click the video camera icon.
3. Click "Set Up" and a program will be downloaded automatically. This is the plug-in that will enable the feature and then simply run the program.
4. If the person you tried to call has not installed the plug-in yet, he/she will be prompted to do so. Once both parties have installed the plug-in, you may start video call!

Few facts found under their Help Center:

1. Video calling works best with the latest versions of the following browsers:

Mozilla Firefox
Google Chrome
Internet Explorer
Safari

2. To end a video call, just close the video window.

3. Just like with chat, only your confirmed friends can call you on Facebook. You also have the option to ignore any call you receive. [SEE! THAT'S WHY IT'S IMPORTANT THAT YOU ONLY ACCEPT REQUESTS FROM PEOPLE YOU KNOW!]

Kamayan sa Palayisdaan

Kamayan sa Palaisdaan is a native restaurant, located in Tayabas, Quezon. I can say that this is the ideal getaway restaurant for seafood lovers. This is owned by Rosauro de los Santos and  her wife, Evangeline. The owner was really into fish since he was a kid so he decided to set up a fish pond. Customer afterwards came to buy fresh tilapia from the fishpond time passed by when customers would ask him to cook the fish he sells. And that's who he started.

In April 1992, he set up his own version of the family business for a reason that he wanted to make a living for him and to help the people around the neighborhood by giving them jobs. The pond took eight months to construct and the restaurant now has 56 bamboo huts plus two halls that can host 1,700 people.

Kamayan sa Palayisdaan is blessed with cool climate, bracing mountain breeze, lush vegetation. Also, you will be able to experience how it is being one with nature, eating with your bare hands and dining in nipa huts floating on a pond.

Word of Warcraft is free to play once your character reaches level 20

Blizzard Entertainment has anounced that the most popular MMORPG World of Warcraft, will be free to play once your character reaches level 20.

With the new program called World of Warcraft Starter Edition, new playes can play at the own pace without worrying that their free trial will expire. Once their character reaches level 20, they can continue playing but will stop earning experience, making it impossible to stop. To play past level 20, new players will need to upgrade to the full version of the game, which can be done online.

Since, there's is no time limit for trail players, there's a great deal of the other restrictions besides the level 20 limit. Trial players can have a maximum of 100 gold, their trade skills are capped at 100 ranks, they are unable to trade in the AH or join Guilds, their chat options are limited, they cannot invite other players into a party, and they cannot join parties with other characters above level 20 and so on.

In short, WOW maybe free, but still it's far from the full World of Warcraft experience.

Here’s an FAQ describing all the intricacies of the new free trial system. To sign up, go here.

Do you think is this Blizzard’s first step to making WoW completely free? Will the upcoming masses of new trial players annoy older players? Share your opinions in the comments.

Pakyaw’s Kitchen Pizza Deal

I was invited by Rakee and Lesly for dinner at Greenbelt 3 and guest what we used a discount voucher that was bought form Pakyaw.com.ph. The deal is P250 for Kitchen’s Pizza and Iced Tea for 2. A whopping 17” pizza with the choice of Skewers Place (chicken barbeque pizza topped with 3 types of cheese) or Knot of Four Pizza (four types of cheese pizza served with alfalfa and arugula) and unlimited serving of Cool it (mint iced tea) or Leaves of Grass (pandan iced tea).
The place is crowded for a rainy Wednesday night. We had to share a long table with a couple so it’s a bit awkward if you ask me. The menu is like a notebook which looked like it won’t stand for a long time and the pictures and description are too small for them to fit in a big page.
We ordered the two variants for the deal and here’s what we got:
The Knot of Four Pizza picture is corrupted so as much as I want to show you, it’s not possible :) So anyway, as you can see it’s not your typical type 17″ pizza. The pizza is super thin, crunchy and tasty. The alfalfa and arugula complimented the Skewers Place pizza but we didn’t like it with the Knot of Four. Overall, the food is good and enough for us three. Just a tip, if you’re really hungry I suggest you to order an appetizer or pasta since it takes a long time for them to serve the pizza.

Coz I'm not that strong, no deal
But I just can't help seekin' & carin'
& knowin' you is worth livin'

Let me feel what you really intend
& you know, I don't want to pretend
Being with you is always worthwhile
I'm so inspired seein your weet smile

I really need to know what's love for you
Please help me to let you feel what I really do
This feelin' aint easy for me to do
So let me know before I totally fall for you...

Starbucks Ends Smoking in Coffee Shops

Just want to share what I've read in Yahoo! News...

As far as Starbucks is concerned, cigarettes and coffee don't go well together anymore.

In a recent notice posted in Starbucks stores nationwide, the company said that it is converting "all previously designated smoking outdoor areas" into non-smoking zones beginning June 27.

The controversial move, which was met with mixed reactions by users of social networking site Twitter where the story first broke, is meant to comply with a recent campaign by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

"Since there is a new enforcement campaign that seeks to make Metro Manila 100% smoke-free, we decided to comply with the rule," an official of Rustan Coffee Corporation (RCC), the local operator of Starbucks, told GMA News Online in a phone interview.

Asked if the move -seen to alienate smokers from patronizing the company's products- will negatively affect their sales, the official said: "Hopefully not."

This early, however, Twitter users are threatening to leave their usual Starbucks habit in favor of other coffee brands because of the company's move.

"Is this true, All Starbucks outlets will be NON-SMOKING starting June 27???? Goddluck sa customers nyo," Twitter user @jay_matti cautioned.

"no smoking in starbucks? hello coffee bean!" @briansales quipped.

One Tumblr conversation between friends jokingly went: "Well, that's the last time I'm taking my business to Starbucks then. What the *** am I supposed to do in Starbucks? Drink coffee???"

The RCC official, who asked not to be named, said they will put up signages around the stores to remind customers about the new policy.

But what if customers still insist on smoking in the outdoor areas of the store? "We leave the enforcement to the MMDA. As an establishment we just wanted to comply with the law," the official stressed.

Guys, kita kitz na lang sa Coffee Bean! hehe

Caramoan Adventure!

It was a late Friday night of May 15, 2010 when Erveene, JunJun, Apleh, Thea, Wency, Grace and I met at the Lucena Grand Terminal. Our destination – Caramoan Islands.

It was a long journey – about 6 hours. Good thing I was travelling with a large group so the trip was more enjoyable than usual. The kulitans took my mind off the long trip ahead of us. It was around 6 in the morning and we were finally in Sabang.

From Sabang Port we took a boat goCaing to Guijalo Port it’s about a 2 hours ride. 2 hours of seating on the boat can really be painfull in your buttocks but you can enjoy beautiful scenery and maybe a chat with your friends can pass time.

Finally around 8 Am we arrived at Guijalo Port then we rode a tricycle to RiverView Vacation Inn Caramoan.

Our second day in Caramoan means one whole day of island hopping. We woke up as early as 6am since our call time is 7am.

We were all excited to see the islands of Caramoan and the still water amazes us as we travel by boat, and finally after 2 hours of boat ride we reached caramoan islands…

We finished the day exhausted but we definitely enjoyed all the islands. For more pictures click here...

Gayon Calaguas!

After a week of planning and drinking sessions with my highschool friends we decided to go to Calaguas. Calaguas is one of GREAT beaches that is still not yet commercialized. The local’s called it Calaguas Group of Islands and it is located at the coast of Camarines Norte. It’s a perfect place for a beach camping experience.

Calaguas or Mahabang Buhangin was beautiful, there was no doubt about it. I learned about Calaguas from one of my friends just about a month or so ago. I googled it and found out that it’s an island north of Camarines Norte.

They say nothing worth having comes easy and the voyage to Calaguas lived by the quote. We were mesmerized by its beauty. The color of the beach is turquoise over white powdery sand.  The water were clear and sparkling. In fact, the people swimming were even glowing. I have not yet alighted on our boat but I have concluded that it’s the best beach I have ever seen so far. I fell even more in love when I stepped on its fine sands.  It was so gentle on my feet.

Sunset is my least favorite part of the day, but watching the sun goes down in Calaguas made me look forward to more sunset in different places.

Thanks to Northlink Events and Travel Services specially to Jonel and Darius for a 2 days and 1 night worry free stay in Calaguas. For more pictures CLICK HERE...

Bohol Part 2

Bohol’s Man Made Forest is basically a two-kilometer rainforest with mahogany trees as the main features. Years before, the very site of the Man Made Forest is populated by different plant species, most of them are wild, until the Boholanos decided it is time that they take control of the forest. The Man Made Forest is notable for its very orderly structure. The trees are uniformed in height and in many other ways including the leaves’ design.

The real joy of exploring the Man Made Forest is going all the way up the winding road, which is very identical to a chicken’s intestine. As you drive up, all that you can see behind is the luscious greens that are uniformed in height and are spread out as if they are guarding something down.
The Man Made Forest can be reached by land, about a few minutes ride from Tagbilaran City to close in on the 20-kilometer distance. It is found along the margins of ‘Tina-I sa Manok’ road, a winding pathway from Loboc to Bilar.
The Loboc River is one of the major tourist destination in Bohol. The winding river plays host to cruises on board of small bancas or floating restaurants. Visitors are treated to a vista of lush tropical vegetation such as nipa palms, coconut trees, banana groves, and bushes.
Baclayon Church
This is a both a historic and religious tourist site. The church’s foundation was laid in 1595 making it one of the oldest relics of the Philippines’ early history. The church is no longer in use and remains only as a shadow of its former glory.
The biggest python in Bohol. The python named Prony is Albur’s star and has known to the people as “Live Anaconda of Bohol.” Just a few hundred meters is a Python sanctum which is 5 years old in existence with a length of approximately 23 feet and an estimated weight of about 300 kg. The biggest python in captivity ever known. Named after its captor, Prony, it loves to eat during feeding time. The winding barangay road leading to the sanctuary and the majestic sights along the course keeps one feel the prime of nature.
